Memphis Fashion Weekend Giveaways UPDATED

Elly's clutch is featured in the December '12 issue of Memphis Magazine. She creates her bags from mid-century fabrics that are steeped in architectural history.

Update Thursday, April 4th:  Congratulations to our winners, Sarah, Melissa, Kris, and Shawn! Enjoy your Memphis Fashion Weekend booty! MFW is starting now; head to to find out more. And Augusta will be Instagramming from MFW all weekend long on the Memphis magazine Instagram account:  follow us!

Memphis Fashion Weekend starts next Thursday, April 4th, at Alchemy with an industry and VIP Preview Party. Designers, models, and other glitterati will be taking in the creations of several wildly talented local designers. Unique to today's blog is a list of giveaways from a few participating designers from this year's special weekend. Blog Readers — now's your chance to have your own special piece from MFW13. Items to be given away will be chosen by the creators. Leave a comment below for a chance to win and we'll randomly choose winners for these highly coveted items from Elly Dehlye Handbags, Lauren Carlson's Question The Answer jewelry line, Brave Design, Mo's Bows, and Hoop City. Special note: Hoop City is not a participating designer of MFW13, but the t-shirts are just too cool NOT to include AND it's almost time for the NBA Play-Offs, so there.

Question the Answer jewelry by Lauren Carlson is all about pretty little things that are desirable to women with a keen sense of humor and a certain je ne sais quoi. This necklace inspired by Mexico's Day of the Dead is handcrafted of wood, gold chain, and druzy crystals. Freeze models will be wearing these pieces at Thursday's Preview Party.

Mary Taylor and Mimi Danosky are the wonder twin power duo behind Brave Design and they will be showing their goods on Saturday. This is an example of one of their trademark pieces, the Medicine Necklace.

Mo's Bows creator and CEO, 11-year-old Moziah Bridges, makes these divine bowties from vintage fabrics and was taught to sew by his grandmother. Don't think these are just for the guys — girls can wear these too, for a chic and unexpected accessory. These bows will be shown off at the Preview Party.

The Grizz have secured a spot in the playoffs so it's time to upgrade your Hoop City t-shirt collection. Leslie Skelton and Ian Lemmonds have several new designs including this one. Look for these t-shirts all over the Grindhouse.

Leave a comment and we'll pick winners and connect everyone that needs connecting. We'll cut off for entries on Wednesday April 3rd at noon, and notify all winners by Thursday morning, April 4th.  Most importantly, support Memphis Fashion Weekend (and Memphis in general) by investing in these local goods that keep all of us Looking Good in Memphis.

I moved to Memphis in August for pharmacy school and have fallen in LOVE with this city! Never before have I lived anywhere that had so many people who genuinely care, support, and stand behind everything the city has to offer! I can't wait to experience even more of this amazing place!

Elly Dehlye Handbags are the best! She uses commercial fabrics so they are super durable and cleanable. And you can't go wrong with Hoops City gear!

Memphis has some of the most expressive, talented, and fashion / design savvy individuals for a city that is known for its "Blues." I believe our rich music heritage enriched the creative minds of these "soul full" designers and artists. Mimi Danosk and Mary Taylor are the creative souls behind Brave Design. Do you remember when you believed in magic? They design magic for your neck, wrists, and ears. Colorful, beautiful, iridescent stones that dance when you put them on. You are instantly hooked. Elly Dehlye Handbags are perfection. The colors and the fabrics are very polished and classic. I am in love with the clutch, and she has mastered it. Hooray!! I must mention Mo's Bows simply because the bowtie is simply the fashion statement for this year. Genious! Not only is the design simply wonderful, but the vintage fabric delights. The patterns and the colors of Mo's Bows are stunning. You will want to buy more than one of these delightful bows for your "beau." True neck candy. Lastly, should you have any questions on fashion couture or a particular designer to contact: I must recommend my friend, fashionista, and savvy soul sister, Augusta Campbell, Stylist. Memphis is lucky to have such a talented, eclectic, and chic lady to call our own.
